Before the Carvalho series, MVM wrote a truly weird book called "I
killed Kennedy". I read it many years ago, and still remember it as a
hilarious and very dark read. I don't know if it's ever been translated
into English.

Pepe Carvalho may be the only hardboiled detective to have a personal
cook.

MVM is a regular columnist for the daily _El Pa=EDs_ of Madrid; his
columns are very funny and irreverent.
