Fri, 24 Jul 1998 21:33:39 +0000 How about something from the UK - or anywhere else other
than America. Lets strike a blow against cultural imperialism.
Here are some ideas:
UK:
Mark Timlin - the Nick Sharman books
Ted Lewis (Get Carter)
Derek Raymond - serious 'black' novels
Dan Kavanagh - the Duffy books
Chris Petit (the film guy) "The Psalm Killer" an ncredible book
based on N.Ireland
Germany:
Jakob Arjourni's Kayankaya books
France:
Sabastian Japrisot: Lady with glass,a car and a gun
Spain:
The incomparable Pepe Carvhalo series by Vasquez Montalban
China:
Wang Sho's "Playing for Thrills"
S.Africa
The Kramer and Zondi books.

Well, just a thought but look on the bright side, you may broaden
your mind, not to mention your knowledge of geography.
