I remember Gilda from the first time around. Remember none of the
mystery. Just Rita Hayworth singing (actually mouthing, Anita Ellis
sang it) and dancing that marvelous strip-tease without really taking
anything off "Put the Blame on Mame", and that shot of her leg in the
air as she pulled on a stocking and the camera followed the stocking up
her leg. Sigh. I was fourteen at the time, and never recovered from
Rita Hayworth.
