video rental store, the Video Vault. They rent by mail as well, so if

The Astounding B-Monster website has a fairly recent interview with

about "Daddy-O," and his friendship with Ellroy. There's also a

BTW, "The Astounding B-Monster" is one of the most consistently
informative and entertaining webzines out there. Their issue no. 6
focused on film noir, and included reviews of some lesser known noirs
like the exciting "Raw Deal," and my personal favorite "The Big Combo."
