Wed, 25 Feb 1998 12:19:54 +0900 Bill Denton wants to know who wrote a short story called "Kiss Me, Dudley."
This story is a parody on Spillane, probably first printed in the January
1955 of Manhunt magazine, written by Hunt Collins, aka Evan Hunter, aka Ed
McBain. This story may be reprinted in some anthology under the name of
Evan Hunter or Ed McBain now.

Mario Taboada wants to know about Roger L. Simon's CALIFORNIA ROLL.
When Roger visited Japan in the mid-80s, I guided him around Tokyo. The
translator in the book may be based on me. Roger came to the meeting of
The Maltese Falcon Society Japan, which I was in charge of.
Roger's latest novel,THE LOST COAST (HarperCollins, 1997), has to do with
the environment movement in the Lost Coast in California, the wildest
forest in the Northern California, and with the sold-out private eye and
the shot-out family.
