Plein Soleil (the 1960 French film based on The Talented Mr.
Ripley) was
recently released on video in the US under the title Purple
Noon. It
should be at your local video store. I saw it and it's pretty
good.
I'm curious to hear more reactions from the group about Wim
Wenders's
film American Friend that Denton mentioned. Didn't know it
was out
there and haven't seen it.
Also, other remarks on Highsmith's lesbianism and the implied
homosexual
tension in THe Talented Mr. Ripley?
