RARA-AVIS: James Remar

Remar has had a fairly successful career portraying heavies in movies for the
past 20 years. My earliest recollection of him is as a teenaged gang member
in Walter Hill's THE WARRIORS. Remar's most famous role is perhaps as the
gleefully psychotic Ganz in Hill's 1980 actioner 48 HOURS, which of course
launched the movie career of comedian Eddie Murphy. A typical role is as the
drug lord in the 1990 (or thereabouts) underrated crime programmer BAND OF
THE HAND. More recently, he has portrayed a cop in the Madeline Stowe/Aiden
Quinn thriller BLINK.
