>From a Canadian Broadcasting Corporation announcement:

| 6:30 p.m. (7:30 AT; 8 NT)
| CBC RADIO

| RAYMOND CHANDLER'S THE BIG SLEEP A THREE-PART SERIES ON THE MYSTERY
| PROJECT
|
| CBC Radio's THE MYSTERY PROJECT presents The Big Sleep by Raymond
| Chandler, dramatized for radio by Bill Morrison.
|
| Los Angeles in 1939, a time and place that were comfortable for Chandler
| as he made his decision to switch from short pulp fiction to long-format
| detective stories.
|
| Somewhere on one of those long sun-drenched streets - before freeways -
| somebody opened a door and out stepped a character named Philip
| Marlowe. Nobody realized then that this was to be the role-model for
| generations of private eyes.
