Regarding first novels... In Greg Rucka's KEEPER, protagonist Atticus Kodiak is a professional bodyguard with a military background. He takes an assignment protecting a woman doctor, targeted by an anti-abortion groups. He quickly discovers that he and his associates are in way over their heads. The characters in this book are vivid and there is a remarkable level of versimilitude in regard to Kodiak's profession. The book is quite suspenseful and has a shattering climax. I recommend it highly. Gee... I could write blurbs on the backs of these things, couldn't I? - # RARA-AVIS: To unsubscribe, say "unsubscribe rara-avis" # to majordomo@icomm.ca
