A season of films, personal appearances and events on hard
boiled crime fiction. A sampling of the complex, creative and
sometimes destructive relationship between great writers of
hardboiled crime fiction and the movies, from the 1930s
onwards. Many of the novelists featured, unlike their more
traditional predecessors, actually worked in the movies and
were directly involved in some great productions of their own
work as well as those of others.

Murder Ink includes appearances by Walter Mosley (on Sat 12
April) and Elmore Leonard (Sat 19 April). Film adaptations of
Graham Greene, Eric Ambler, Georges Simenon, Patricia
Highsmith, James M Cain and David Goodis all feature in
April, and coming up in May there's Raymond Chandler and Jim
Thompson. Films showing in April inlcude Psycho, This Gun For
Hire, Diva, In A Lonely Place, The Spiral Staircase, Devil in
a Blue Dress, Vertigo and many more.
